2011 marks the 20th year for the WCPMA.
Congrads to the group.
Who are the founding members? I am interested in some of the history as well as some of previous members who have moved on and into the history books.

Thanks Mike but that does not really answer my question. I was wondering who started it besides Vern.

The WCPMA was started by Wayne Torkelson Jr. They ran a couple of open events in 1990 then in 1991 started out with rules points and a race schedule. The 1st event in 1991 was in Seattle Wa. I can't remember who all was there ( or much else for that matter ) but I remember a few.
Kirk Kuhns
Lee Frank
John Scalpi
Glen May
Butch Lee
Joe Delehay ?
Rick Distefano ?
Doc Finley
Probably several that I don't recall, Maybe some one can fill in the blanks

Thanks everyone, That is interesting. Great video from the past.
I remember Joe's truck and Ricks car back then.
They used to race in Calgary back then I think.

Gary,
We also had a group before, the Northwest Doorslammers, that ran from about 89 til maybe the late 90's. I booked the fist race in Calgary in 89 or 90.
Ken and Diane Thompson gave us our first race ever.
A few more names for that first WCPMA event in 1991.
Trevor Lowe
Tom Jacobson
Kip Dupuis
Randy Haggerty
Some that have moved on;
Glen May IHRA top 10 in 94 or 95
Danny Rowe IHRA top 10 won first NHRA Pro Mod INDY #3 last year
Ricky D Ihra top 5
Glen Kerunsky IHRA top 5 Lead the points much of the year.
Dennis Radford IHRA top 10 ADRL #2 currently running NHRA GSA
Wayne Torkelson SR. Won Nitro Coupe championship at Super Chevy
Many have gone on to do well, others probably could have also, given the time and money.
Lee Frank has a few pics from the 1st race in Seattle, I'll se if we can get them up here somehow.

I actually attended that race in 91 here in Seattle. I didn't remember it being West Coast Pro Mod Assoc but I do remember being "wowed" by the cars. I do remember Kurt, John, & Trevor being there.
