I think that we should

1. delay poured seat
2. delay helmet side supports
3. alllow automated shifters

All of these could be implemented in one year to give everyone a chance to change over.

Any other suggestions and then we need to vote.

I personally think we should go with NHRA. Not that it matters but most of the tracks if not all that we go to are NHRA tracks. Lets keep it as simple as possible so we are all on the same page. However if anyone noticed there is 2 sections of Pro Mod in the rulebook. They are section 5 and 11H. Section 5 should be the one we use. It is the one that NHRA will use at National Event Pro series races. They are also the closest to last years rules. I have not yet seen the IHRA rules but at this point the class for them is shakey at best. It is whatever you racers decide is what we will do. I also agree with delaying some requirements like the fitted seat - however if anyone intends to go to a national event you would be in trouble. I forgot to mention section 11H is Comp Eliminator Pro Mod.

I have no dog in this hunt but. I would voice my opinion that just go ahead and get all the stuff you need now. It's not like it's gonna get any cheaper. Also keep checking the amendments to the rules they are changing! Also if anyone wants to run a GSA race like Greg said your gonna need the stuff anyway. I also think that comp eliminator will need all the same saftey stuff before long if it already doesn't.

As Jimmy already stated keep up with the rule changes. Automated shifters
are now legal. If everyone hasn't noticed also be aware of the Fire system activated engine kill system now required.

Also is there a positive schedule of race dates put together yet? The sooner I know the better for me anyway!

Another one that's catching a lot of people off guard is the requirement for the rear driveshaft enclosure piece. Bickel is selling them for around $400 but a guy here in Seattle is building some for much less and has a bunch of orders already. I'll get more info and pictures if anyone is interested. It's going to be much simpler and easier to take off & put on than some of the others.

Here's the Bickel one for example.
