Blown Away Racing

The off season has been busier than
ever for Blown Away Racing. We have many new additions to the
team. All the way from the crew to a couple of brand new BAE 526
Hemis that we are all thrilled to be running. We want to thank
Art Evans over at Arts Accurate Auto Body for allowing us to use
the paint booth there, along with crew member Bill Oberman and
John Pugh with Gunslinger Graphics for painting the car and air
brushing the body.
Bill Obermann has two daughters, Erica
21 and Amber 18. While he's not at All American 4 X 4 working
he is drag racing, hanging with his daughters or volunteering
at the animal shelter in Castle Rock. Bill has out done himself
this off season. To start with he repaired the entire body of
the car. Fixing every crack, ding and scratch on the body. He
painted the frame and body before John Pugh worked his magic with
the air brush. Bill is a huge asset to Blown Away Racing and we're
happy to have him on the team.
Lee Kent is 35 years old and is the
newest addition to the team. He has a wife, Dawn and they have
three kids Cheyanne who is 11, Sheridyn who is 9 and Colton who
is 8. Lee is a Mercedes Benz technician. He enjoys going to his
kid's soccer games and activities on the weekends. He also races
Pro ATV. He has raced in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and done pretty
well in the past. He is looking forward to competing again this
year at the Hill Climb.
Nick Johanns is 19 years old. He is
a driller at High Country Directional Drilling Inc. When he's
not working or racing, he enjoys going to concerts, riding his
ATV and most of all hanging with his girlfriend Ashlyn. Nick has
a twelve second Corvette that he races on the off weekends of
pro mod. He is looking forward to running it this year and winning
races.
Connie Johanns is the proud owner of
Blown Away Racing. She allows her husband Tommy to drive the race
car. They have two sons, Nick who is 19 and Ryan who is 13. Her
occupation is cooking and cleaning and she enjoys harassing the
crew at the shop and the track.
Steve Graves is 42 and he will be in-charge
of making the car go down the track. He is married to Shawnette.
They have two sons, Brock who is 21 and Blayne who is 19. Steve
owns Mile High Performance. They specialize in high performance
boats and making things go fast. He enjoys going to the track
and seeing the car go from A to B.
Brock Graves is 21 years old. He is
in-charge of machining for Blown Away Racing. He is a full time
student at CU Denver. He is going for his mechanical engineering
degree. He is currently employed at UPS loading trucks. He enjoys
hanging with friends and meeting girls.
Tommy Johanns is 46 and getting younger
every time he goes down the track. He is married to his wife Connie
who allows him to drive her car. They have two sons Nick and Ryan.
He owns Foothills Utility and High Country Directional Drilling.
Tom works hard but plays harder and he is excited for the 2008
race season.
Blayne Graves is 19 years old. He is
a technician at Mile High Performance. When he is not working
at the shop he is trying to find sponsorship to go racing. He
enjoys working on race cars and hanging with friends.
Steve Dudden is married to his wife
Karen. They have two kids, Beka and Alex. When Steve is not running
his shop, All American 4 X 4, he enjoys riding dirt bikes, boating
and traveling the country in his motor home with his family.
All of us at Blown Away Racing are very
excited for this year's race season. Our goal was to race the
entire West Coast Pro Mod Series, but it looks like we're going
to come up short on the first race. Between work and waiting on
parts and supplies for the car we won't make Billings but we will
be at the rest.
We're especially excited about the series
coming to Colorado. All of us want to win but if we could win
the Colorado race it would be great. This is going to be a huge
learning year for all of us but we are feeling really good about
it. The team chemistry is great. This is the first time we've
all worked together and it seems like we've been together for
a couple of seasons now. It's going to be a great year and we're
all stoked for the season to start.
